I started playing Pool in 1986. After a couple of years, I bought my first cue which was a €10 three piece unimpressive length of wood. I modified that cue extensively, until very little of the original cue remained. Although crude, I learned so much from the extensive surgery I did on that cue. It was eventually stolen and I stopped playing.

However, years later, my passion was reignited, and I started playing again. I knew how a high-quality cue should look and feel like, so I invested time into learning about cue craftsmanship and what distinguishes a great cue from the average ones. Key factors to consider include wood selection and seasoning, construction techniques, shaft tapers, and joint types. Additionally, adhesive options, ferrule materials, and tip selection are crucial. It’s in my nature to explore how things are built and what makes them function.
